On a typical Friday evening, you're watching a good movie on your TV. As you're engrossed in the action, you realize that what you're hearing is coming from two speakers. If there were more of them, would you be better immersed in the moment?   

This is where Wave-Field Synthesis comes into play: by placing different loudspeakers in strategic positions, we can reproduce the sound of certain places as if we were actually there. But how many loudspeakers are needed to achieve this? And how do several loudspeakers work together to reproduce these sound environments? These are just some of the questions scientists and engineers have been asking themselves. Fortunately, they have found solutions to meet the needs of science, but also those of the arts and entertainment industry. Follow us to the cinema to find out more!
